Karla Casique immigrated to the United States from Venezuela when she was young.
She believes she may also have Native American roots as her last name means "chief" in Navajo.
Karla is a poet, activist, spoken word artist and a journalist.
She lives for vibrant lipstick, music, nature and art.
Karla loves trees and finds serenity in natural things.
On her arm, Karla often inscribes the tattoo she wants in sharpie: the name of her hometown "La Victoria", surrounded by a ring of stars. She remembers her small white tennis shoes and the sound they made on the bricks when she used to run around in the town square in this town.
Reading: a favorite pastime.
Karla has stacks of journals filled with poetry, and carries a notebook with her at all times.
