Obviously a a student's video for a final class project cannot compare to a video published by The New York Times, but both are clear examples of what and what not to do for a video. The video by the NYT titled "Girl Boxer" features clear audio and seamless editing, with different locations and active movement to show progression of the video and keep the viewer engaged. The other video, a girl's final project for NPM's Digital Journalism and Storytelling Course, is not as interesting and does not have pleasant audio. The pictures featured are not easy to view as they are constantly moving at a fast pace, and we listen to two people talk for very long times at separate points in the video. This does not capture the viewer's attention, and it is easy to get distracted. The final project video is only an example of the starting point, while the NYT clip is an example of a great type of video that we can learn how to create.
