A closeup of the month's official t-shirt. The bird silhouette is the Aztec eagle that was used during latino worker's rights movements in California during the 1970's. The wall imagery is a self-explanatory reference.

Pupusas, a traditional Salvadoran dish made of a thick, handmade corn tortilla, are served to those attending the event.

The attending crowd gathers in a circle for a large-scale ice-breaker mini game hosted by the Latino Student Union. The goal is to form a human chain after sharing a fact about yourself.

Karla Casique is a junior Multi-Platform Journalism major and United States Latino Studies minor. She's also a millennial.

Her proudest accomplishments of activism and community involvement begin here at the MICA office in Stamp.

In her limited free time, Casique enjoys reading and having arguments about the intersection of race and gender with her stuffed dolphin she's had since she was 4 years old.

Karla writes in her Kylo Ren journal to release the pent up rage of having a large latino man follow her around all day and take photos of her.
