Good Video: This first video is a
short piece about someone, presumably a family member, leaving their home after
years of living on the land and taking care of it. I think this is a good
project because it is simple, yet includes some soft NAT sound, some music,
good lighting, and audio. However, I do think it could use a lower third or
something to let you know who this lady is. Just a little more info to round
off a generally good piece with strong meaning.
Bad Video: This isn't exactly something I think we would do in a journalism
multimedia classes, but this is a classic example of what not to do when making
a multimedia project: filming on your iPad 2 and using that same iPad 2 to edit
with iMovie. I couldn't help but post it. Now I'm not knocking iMovie because
you can make some good stuff with it, but what am I watching here. The
edits are basic and there isn't really anything that stands out. The first video was 100 times better in terms of content and meaning, and of course,
probably took more time and effort. Maybe the point of this Pokemon project was
to be fun/funny, but just a little more time and effort would have gone miles
with this project.
