  Overall-A packed room greets performers September 14 at the annual Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, organized by the University of Maryland's Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA).

 Medium-G-Girls & Wasabi Boyz receive applause from the audience for their hip-hop dance.

Medium-CSSA's Choir Team sing "Transformation," a song they hope will inspire Chinese students to do better in the future. 
 Medium-Carissa Kwan, a member of the Tianyi Dance Team, performs a folk dance from the Inner Mongolia prairie.

 Detailed-Un1K's members perform a KPop dance. They say it is tradition for them to dance at all CSSA activities.

The crab-cake is one of Maryland's culinary staples. It is also the highest selling menu item at the restaurant.  


A food-runner is in seen in action during a busy Sunday brunch.

Here two chefs are responsible for shucking oysters at one of the busiest raw bars in Annapolis.

Medium: Smile Herb Shop hosts Bluegrass in the Backyard Garden every Thursday night in October.

Overall: On Thursdays, the shop stays open longer than their usual hours to offer tea samples and snacks to visitors.

Detail: A sign welcomes visitors into the backyard amongst bushes and potted plants.

Detail: Eric Vesper plays folk tunes, original songs and even Bach inventions on his mandolin.

Medium: Vesper's dog Warf sits and listens to the music.

Overall: Vesper sits under the large tent with several empty chairs. He mentions that the week before, there were 20 people there, including a few other musicians.

The oldest mailbox on Heidi Lane has stood for more than 30 years.
Alongside the daily mail input, this mailbox has become well acquainted with ant colonies and hornets nests.

Medium: Bantam King, located in Washington's Chinatown, is a popular place to get a quick bite to eat. The restaurant's most served dish is its signature ramen.

Overall: Bantam King gets busy around lunchtime. 

Medium: Bantam King is known for its aesthetics and artistic, cultural visuals. 

Medium: Small groups often come to Bantam King to get a quick bite during their visit in Chinatown.

Close-up: Bantam King sells various flavors of Japanese soda to pair with meals.

Close-up: One of the most popular ramen choices is the spicy miso ramen with shredded chicken, corn, seaweed and cilantro.

Overall: Bantam King brings in anyone and everyone to enjoy good food.
