On Sunday, September 18th, I attended the wedding of an Orthodox couple in Baltimore, Maryland along with 30 other Jewish teens participating in a fellowship program through MEOR Maryland.
After attending the reception, the students were catered a private, Kosher meal by the bride and groom's catering service.
For a meal to be Kosher, it cannot contain both milk and meat. Since the entree contained meat, the salad was full of fresh vegetables.
A tradition among Orthodox weddings, the bride danced separate from her husband the whole night. Instead, she danced with all her female guests, reminding her of her early life prior to her marriage.
Here, a guest prays on her own as the wedding service continues.
Of course the night would not have been complete without ice cream. Don't worry, it was dairy-free!
