Pre-Video Assignment, Parsons

Bad: https://youtu.be/hFvdrpGQKk4

I think this multimedia project was not the strongest and could have been improved with different camera and audio decisions. The beginning hook with the conference started good however, the camera was moving and needed to be on a tripod through the opening clips. Also, during the interview segments the camera was not positioned with the interviewees on the side but rather they were positioned so they were looking straight at the camera while they were talking. It would have been more natural to have them on the side of the camera looking to the interview off to the side like we learned in class. When the interviewees were speaking, the background noise was a little to loud and it was hard to hear what they were saying and it became distracting.

This multimedia project had good camera, audio and content. The background noise benefited the video, it did not distract away from any interviews going on. The camera was set up appropriately when giving interviews so that the interviewees were not looking straight at the camera and were in a setting where the background was not distracting, and they were not positioned directly in front of the camera. The audio was clean and understandable throughout the project. The clips that were displayed while an interviewee was talking added to the project as it showed findings. Even when the camera was moving it remained steady and was not shaky throughout the project. The information provided by the interviews only aided the project and did not confuse or distract from the purpose. Overall, I thought CNN did a really good job with this multimedia project.
