Melnick, Photo Assignment #4

These pictures were taken at the Hillwood Gardens and Dumbarton Oaks in D.C. I went to D.C. expecting to take pictures of buildings, but after exploring and seeing these gardens, I changed my mind. The pictures tell the story of how the seasons change the color of gardens with fall upon us. It also tells the story of how when you go to D.C., you don't expect to see environments like this. You expect to see buildings and a city environment. But you can find natural beauty in D.C. by exploring more than the buildings.

A butterfly takes pollen from a daffodil in a garden full of the flowers.

A fountain within the gardens.

A lake within the gardens.

Close-up view at one of the flowers.
