Photo Assignment 3, Lockwood

A comment board outside of the Posing Beauty in African American Culture display asks visitors to write on colorful pieces of paper how the gallery made them feel.
An overview shot of Posing Beauty in African American Culture on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019. The exhibit is on display at the Driskell Center, located in Cole Student Activities Center, until April 27th.

Some of Posing Beauty's featured artworks include portrait photographs. Lyle Ashton Harris' 1965 untitled self-portrait hangs in the foreground of the photo.

An up-close shot of Hank Willis Thomas' 2009 print entitled "Posing Beauty." The entire work spans about five feet long and around thirteen feet tall.

"Pat Evans," a digital print by Anthony Barboza, hangs on the right wall. The rest of the Posing Beauty gallery is visible through the entrance to this room.
